Cardex & IT Security — Smart Cards and IT Security Systems
The 6th International Exhibition and Conference of Smart Cards and IT Security Technologies CARDEX & IT SECURITY 2009 took place in the Expocentre at Krasnaya Presnya from the 13 to 16 April 2009.
Smart cards play an extremely important role in the modern society for automation of trade processes, bank transactions, access control systems and identification. At present, plastic cards of various purposes are widely used in Russia. One of the most frequently used types of plastic cards is, undoubtedly, bank personified cards. The number of banks issuing plastic cards grows year to year. Competition in the bank sector plays into the hands of consumers, as it creates favourable conditions for an opportunity to choose and improvement of bank services, as well as introduction of new technologies in the work with clients.
Exhibitors demonstrated card production and personalization equipment, software for electronic bank operations and network management, components for manufacturing various types of cards, identification and authentication means, electronic signatures and biometric systems of image recognition.
For the first time Cardex & IT Security was run alongside MIPS, an international exhibition for protection, security and fire safety. Both these events are organised by ITE, the leader of exhibition business in Russia.
Alexander Shtalenkov, General Director of ITE, said: «These two professional forums for many years have been attracting keen attention of specialists. MIPS exhibition awarded with the international mark UFI is well known not only in Russia, but also abroad. Every year CARDEX & IT Security presents the latest achievements in the field of plastic cards industry and the recent technologies of IT security.
On 15 April, Cardex Conference took place within the exhibition bringing together leading specialists of the industry. The Conference was attended by top managers and leading specialists of Digital Security, Surgutneftebank, Payment Technologies, Hypercom, TietoEnator, HID Global, Cardhall, Moscow Social Register GUP, RINTECH, Gold Crown, Gemalto, NXP. Participants of the conference discussed card technologies, non-cash payment systems, IT-Security of all types of non-cash transactions and other issues.
The exhibition and the conference were held under the support of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Association of Russian Banks, Security Committee of Moscow City Duma, and Association of International Cooperation of Privately Owned Enterprises of Security.
During four days these events were attended by 12800 registered specialists, which 7.5% more than last year.
