of the Minister of Interior of the Russian Federation,
to Participants and Guests of the 4th Moscow International Exhibition
of Smart Cards and IT Security Systems «CARDEX & IT Security 2007»

On behalf of the Ministry of Interior of the Russian Federation, I welcome the organisers, participants and guests of the 4th Moscow International Exhibition and Conference of Smart Cards and IT Security Systems «Cardex and IT Security 2007».

Safety provision of information and communication technologies is one of the basic principles of information community development declared at the international summit held in Geneva in December 2003.

The key task of CARDEX and IT Security exhibition is to bring together the largest Russian and international producers of smart cards, card manufacturing equipment, various systems and applications; to provide them with an opportunity to share the experience and demonstrate the newest developments in this field; to contribute to the saturation of the Russian market with technical means aimed at facilitating of management procedures and to join efforts in the development of information security systems.

It is important that the 4th Moscow International Conference of smart cards and security systems to be held within the exhibition provides specialists with an opportunity to discuss key issues of the industry and develop a strategy for resolving such issues.

I am confident that this specialised forum covering critical and important for the Russian society issues, will become a starting point for the optimization of IT security systems.
