The 7th International Exhibition and Conference of Smart Cards and Information Security Systems “CARDEX & IT SECURITY 2010” will take place on 19-22 April in the Expocentr at Krasnaya Presnya.

The exhibition and the conference will be held under the support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Bureau of Special Technical Measures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RF, Association of Russian Banks, Association of International Cooperation of Privately Owned Enterprises of Security and Free Economic Society of Moscow.

The Russian and CIS market of plastic cards has been fast developing recently. The key trend of the market is the application of plastic cards as an integrated tool for the implementation of various social and economic projects. Plastic cards become multi-functional going beyond the bank sector. At present, plastic cards are used not only by trade organisations, but also transportation, medical, insurance and telecommunication companies, housing and utilities agencies, passport and visa departments, social protection and service companies, hotels and others. Introduction of various systems based on card technologies contribute to the development of efficiency, manageability and optimization of commercial and state companies activities.

However, expansion of application fields of plastic cards causes the growth of fraud and risks of confidential information leakage, which results in the necessity for information protection. Therefore, the use of IT security systems becomes even more important, including active introduction of cryptographic protection technologies, data identification and authentication and document protection systems, information resources access management programmes and biometric technologies.

CARDEX & IT SECURITY 2010 will offer specialists the latest achievements of plastic card industry and the newest technologies of information protection, feature new projects in the field of smart card production, provide for the expansion of business partners, including bank, insurance, telecommunication, trade, social services, hotel and restaurant sectors, and state agencies. This event is aimed at a wide inter-branch cooperation, rather than a narrow bank segment, and introduction of innovative projects in various spheres of Russian economy.
